Klnka Children's Folklore Ensemble
Bratislava, Slovensko
English Slovenčina

The children's folklore ensemble KLNKA is known for its high quality interpretation, joining together a playful childishness with precise dancing techniques of all ensemble members, i. e. children between 4 and 17 years old;

The repertoire of the ensemble includes dances and songs from different regions of Slovakia, e. g. from Myjava, Trenčín, Tekov, Liptov, Šariš, Sedmohradsko, Podpoľanie and Gemer as well as a scenic performance of Christmas carrols;
On different important occasions, KLNKA co-operates with adult ensembles, mostly with the top Slovak folk ensemble Lúčnica to vhich some of the KLNKA members regularly graduate to continue disseminating the beauty of Slovak folk art;

KLNKA offers varied yet compact programmes; these, however, can be immediately adjusted according to different requirements, as e. g. smaller group performances; use of playback rather than live music; different lengths of programmes, with different numbers of dances and songs, etc.

The children's folklore ensemble KLNKA made a presentation of Slovak national costumes in Japan and has led audiences to appreciate the beauty of Slovakia and to love Slovak folklore with its numerous performances at home and abroad - in Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Poland, Germany, Macedonia, Turkey, Yugoslavia, South Africa, Tunisia, Madeira, South Korea, China, Ireland, Mexico, Croatia, Spain, Portugal...
